We work with raw timbers giving them a refined edge.
One dictionary defines raw as strong and undisguised.
Strong? Hardwood timbers have been known to bend and break steel. We can affirm that they certainly do an admirable job of dulling a steel blade.
As far as undisguised goes, the timbers we use are cut and otherwise untreated. They are literally sawn and then laid out to air dry. The banding of the saw marks remains visible on the sides of the timbers.
With each piece we craft, our goal is to retain enough of that raw edge to stay true to those qualities.
Strong and undisguised.
Raw, yet refined.
