Rail Yard Studios | CARNEGIE V 97

Carnegie steel rolled in May of 1897 from Rail Yard Studios

Classically simple. This is a brand that sticks to just the basics, yet says so much.

The letters are a thin san serif font - all business on the web of a piece of steel rolled in a foundry of the industrial magnate Andrew Carnegie.

The Roman numeral V tells us it was the lovely month of May - undoubtedly a magnificent early summer day in Pennsylvania.

And the 97 - that's 1897 - and quite a high time for the railroad tycoon, a good number of years before he would ultimately sell to U.S. Steel and further solidify his name in the history books.

Simply classic.
