ICHABOD - LMT
The classic symbol for poison – a skull and crossbones tops this piece with the ICHABOD moniker and train tracks in perspective below. Executed in oil bar during the legendary freight writer’s brief residency with us in 2021, this piece shows off the skill of the master beyond the aerosol.
ICH gravitates toward the panels with the rust and heavier distress that we prepare for him to select from, and this one has lots of character of that kind.
Using exclusively white oil bar for the top imagery, ICHABOD allows the eye to fill in the dark areas of the skull and bones. The hi-viz yellow LMT lettering partially visible to the left of the panel show the connection of the steel section to its railroad heritage and also gives rise to the title bestowed upon this effort. The LMT represents part of the railcar markings that tell the maximum capacity of a car.
ICH signed in his all caps hand style in paint pen to connecting this composition to the legend who has hit over 5500 railcars in his career.
The track perspective icon underscores his moniker while the Circle T, YME and ’63 crew identities nestle beneath.
This piece come ready to mount with custom brackets fashioned in house to make displaying the work of the freight god easy.
