The classic red paint of a Conrail flat panel boxcar needs little introduction to the devoted rail-fan or truly dedicated graffiti artist. Bearing the NYC reporting mark, this is from one of the cars that CSX remarked with heritage reporting marks like that of the New York Central line when they acquired Conrail. Seeing the NYC we salvaged from a scrapped rail car, ICHABOD latched onto this steel canvas as soon as he caught sight of it.

Playing off the bold lettering, ICH added a bone heap filled with his signature skulls, ribs and femurs all outlined with a glowing force field.

It's easy to see in this piece why he stands out among graffiti artists to the point that others have nicknamed him ICHABOD "The Rail God," a term he finds a bit superfluous, but one that he humbly bears the burden of. Obsessively protective of his identity, he works with us on commissioned pieces along with a few other folks like Trout Art Supply in the interest of keeping his identity close to the chest.

Nestled between two top hat section and topped with a channel header from the original railcar, this one from his 2021 residency with us stands out with its vibrant color and unmistakable ICH style.
