You Named It.

The suggestions were good.
Great, even.
We asked for help naming the newest addition to our collection — and you delivered in a big way.
The responses rolled in fast, and it reminded us of something we already knew: we’re surrounded by people who love the language, history, and grit of the rails as much as we do.
Some of you dug deep into railroad lore.
Others kept it clean and classic.
Grant pulled into the station with “End of the Line,” a strong contender that paired nicely with Allen’s “Off the Tracks.”
Darrin’s “Iron Horse” carried weight.
“Boxcar Willie” made us grin.
And John’s “Gandydancer” perfectly captured the spirit of the men who laid the track that built this country.
Each suggestion had character. Each had a story.
But in the end, we kept coming back to something simple. Something strong. Something unmistakable.
Several of you suggested Spike or Spikes — and that idea stuck.
Then two folks close to us drove it home.
Frank and Ray suggested we call the pieces exactly what they are:
The Spiked Desk.
The Spiked Coffee Table.
Clean. Direct. Railroad.
They nailed it.
So thank you — to everyone who took the time to send a suggestion. And a special nod to Frank and Ray for leaving their mark on this piece of the collection.
That’s the thing about railroad history.
It was built together. And we’re still building it.
