Description

Each piece is unique and may vary slightly from the image shown.

Distinguished by its solid crosstie timber, the Double Track coffee table stands among our collection of fine furnishings. Although oak is commonly associated with elegant residences and lavish corporate spaces, it's also a mainstay selection of timber for railway use.

While it's a known fact that railways repurpose various hardwoods for crossties, color us consistently surprised by the natural beauty in the wood we use. The wood piece retains its natural features and character, devoid of creosote, and finished with a transparent eco-friendly oil.

We selectively utilize "culls" or imperfect timbers that have been removed during the treatment process at the tie plant. Most bases of this type of table have a "clean" side and a "charactered" side allowing you to roll with the natural imperfections, or capture the illusion of a perfect timber. This choice aligns with our commitment to sourcing materials sustainably for our furniture creations.

Employing our timeless Double Track design provided us with the ideal platform to showcase the innate charm of the wood, replete with all its distinctive features.

And speaking of Double Track, it refers to sections of railway equipped with two parallel lines. This configuration, found in both urban and rural landscapes, facilitates the passage of trains in opposing directions or enables higher traffic volume in a single direction.

The evident weathering in the timber and the steel rails attests to the enduring life and challenging circumstances endured by the raw materials in use.

This piece is an excellent fit for domestic settings, adding an air of sophistication to dens or spacious living areas. In office spaces, it introduces a touch of industrial chic to any entrance area or lobby.
