Meet the Short Line Bench.

After asking our social media followers and email subscribers to choose between Siding Bench, Spur Bench, Short Line Bench, and Trackwork Bench, Short Line Bench came out on top. And we think it fits.

In railroad language, a short line is a smaller railroad that connects industries, communities, and customers to the larger rail network. It may cover fewer miles than the big names, but its role is anything but small. Short lines have long been the hardworking links that keep freight—and America—moving.

That same spirit lives in this bench.

Built From the Railroad

Like everything we build at Rail Yard Studios, the Short Line Bench starts with authentic railroad materials and a respect for where they’ve been.

Heavy steel gives it an unmistakably industrial presence, while the simple, straightforward design lets the materials tell the story. The scars, markings, and variations aren’t flaws to be hidden. They’re evidence of a working past.

Instead of sending those materials to the scrap pile, we give them another destination.

Industrial Furniture With a Story

The Short Line Bench works in a home, office, lobby, restaurant, or commercial space—anywhere that calls for something more interesting than furniture pulled from a catalog.

It’s functional, sculptural, sustainable, and nearly impossible to ignore.
