Trestle Dining Table

Our classic Trestle Dining Table combines the essential elements of the railroad with the traditional trestle dining table style. Featuring a section of reclaimed vintage railroad rail as the trestle, the simple design with the oversized wood timbers makes this piece of furniture its own centerpiece.

Call it Industrial Modern or Modern Rustic, we’ve created a stout table that commands attention, so your guests will set down their phones (unless they're taking a picture of the table).

We begin with hand-selected hardwood cross-tie timbers. Cuts of wood must meet grade in order to make the cut to become a cross tie. That lumber with imperfections like knots or other minor imperfections gets set aside as a second or a culled timber. Those are the sections we repurpose and use in our furniture.

That means that the wood we use is creosote-free, since it never became a railroad cross-tie. That’s just one way that we strive to offer a sustainably-sourced product through the preservation of this magnificent hardwood timber.

All of our stains and finishes are low or no-VOC, furthering our commitment to being environmentally responsible.

The butcher-block looking tabletop comes from boxcars. We reclaim 2-inch-thick slabs of oak boxcar flooring.

It’s stout.

Know that your tabletop will have transported countless tons of freight over the course of decades of service on the rails. We even retain the original tongue and groove to serve as additional proof of the history of the materials.

We clean up and refinish the tabletop just enough to keep a touch of character. Our goal is to show the years of use evident in the scarring, yet provide you with a finish suitable for dining and spending time with your family and friends.

The conversation around this table will start right there with the table itself.
